Our Practice

Our Vision

A happy office filled with healthy smiles

Our Mission

Our mission is to help our patients maintain optimal oral health and to positively impact our patients' comfort, beauty, confidence, and general well-being. We do this by providing personalized and compassionate care, and using a long-term approach.

Dental Practice History

Dr. Alfred Thompson added space to his home at this location and began practicing dentistry here in 1963. Needing help with his expanding pool of patients, he brought Dr. Dorothy Hoyt-Rehm on as an associate in 1985. After 35+ years of full-time dental practice, he retired in 1999, making way for Dr. Ferguson to take his place. Since that time there has been modernization of equipment and computerization at the facility, but Dr. Hoyt-Rehm and most of Dr. Thompson's loyal staff stayed with the practice through this transition and remain here to this day.

Community Involvement

Our practice has been part of the Fair Haven community for over 40 years. We support our town's education and sports organizations and participate in the local business association.

Philanthropy

Our practice participates in the Donated Dental Services (DDS) program, which is run by a charitable affiliate of the American Dental Association (ADA). Through this program, we provide dental care to disabled, elderly, or medically-compromised individuals who cannot afford necessary treatment and who do not qualify for public aid.

In addition, our practice supports a variety of dental and health-related charities including the National MS Foundation, the March of Dimes, and Doctors Without Borders, but the one to which we are most dedicated is the Smile Train (www.smiletrain.com). The Smile Train provides free cleft lip and palate surgery for millions of poor children in developing countries, and free cleft-related training for doctors and medical professionals in the same developing countries.
